TOEIC

TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) isa globally recognized standardized test that measures the English proficiency of non-native speakers in workplace and international business contexts. It is widely used by companies, airlines, and universities for hiring, promotions, and admissions.

The TOEIC program is divided into two primary testing formats:

  1. TOEIC Listening and Reading Test

This is the most common format globally and in Thailand. It assesses comprehension skills through a 2-hour, multiple-choice format:

  • Listening (100 questions): Takes about 45 minutes and evaluates your ability to understand spoken English through conversations and talks.
  • Reading (100 questions): Takes 75 minutes and evaluates your grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Scoring: Graded on a scale from 10 to 990 points. There is no “pass” or “fail”; organizations simply set their own minimum score requirements (e.g., 550–750) depending on the role.

  1. TOEIC Speaking and Writing Tests

These tests measure your active communication abilities in a professional setting.

  • Speaking: Takes roughly 20 minutes and assesses pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and overall coherence.
  • Writing: Takes about 60 minutes and tests your ability to write effective sentences, support opinions, and organize responses.
